Wasoqopa’q First Nation owns and operates the Winner’s One Stop Restaurant located in Yarmouth, NS. The restaurant is an upscale licensed sit-down restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating, a take-out menu, with gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options
POSITION OVERVIEW AND OBJECTIVE
WFN is currently recruiting for a Server, reporting to Winner’s One Stop Restaurant Manager, responsible for creating a positive dining experience, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring overall satisfaction throughout the guest experience. The Server collaborates with the back of house employees to maintain timeliness, accuracy, smooth operations and upholds the highest standards of hospitality, cleanliness, and professionalism.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES
- Provide excellent customer service, greeting customers, being knowledgeable of the menu items and specials of the day and addressing any inquiries and or concerns
- Knowledgeable and skilled in preparing each item on the hot, cold beverage and coffee menus
- Assist in preparing and serving with high quality presentation, beverage and prepared menu items
- Ensure accurate food and beverage orders, noting any dietary needs or preferences
- Collaborate with back of house employees to ensure orders are prepared and delivered in accordance with the order taken
- Deliver beverages and food orders to customer tables in a timely, professional manner
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of work areas, tables, dining areas, and customer service
- Process transactions including cash, debit and credit card sales
- Conduct end of shift daily paperwork, including daily cash sheet for the till
- Ensure the front of house is well-stocked during the shift
- Adhere to the scheduled shift and inform colleagues for a shift-swapping in the event of emergencies
- Assist in shift coverage when there is a shortage of servers due to emergencies or a sudden lack of employee availability
- Adhere to food safety, health and sanitation procedures in accordance with applicable standards and regulations
- Adhere to all Wasoqopa’q First Nation (WFN) Policies, Procedures and necessary restaurant procedures, as required
- Working in a team environment, other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma with knowledge and experience with electronic equipment (e.g. cash register, Touch bistro)
- 6 month’s minimum experience in customer service industry
- Previous work experience in hospitality and or catering sector is considered an asset
- First Aid/CPR, Food Handler’s and WHMIS is considered an asset
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced work environment
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Hours of work are expected to occur during regular Restaurant hours of 8:00am to 8:00pm, seven (7) days a week (Shifts will be provided within this timeline) including shifts that can occur mornings, evenings, weekends, and certain holidays
- There are instances of lifting heavy boxes at least up to 50 lb
