Notice of Review Hearing – Donald Thomas Peterson
Please be advised that a Review Hearing will be held on April 7th, 2026 to review the allocation of the house at 112 Robinson Road, Yarmouth Reserve, to Donald Thomas Peterson.
It has been alleged that:
- There have been occupants of the home at 112 Robinson Road who did not have approval from Chief and Council to live there.
- Illegal drug use has been associated with the occupants in that home.
- There are grounds to reasonably believe that the home was being used in a manner which is a danger to the welfare of other residents on the Reserve.
- There are grounds to believe that the use of the home was interfering with the ability of those other residents to live safely, in a healthy manner and in peace.
- The home has not been maintained and cared for in the manner required by the Residency Bylaw.
- Donald Thomas Peterson and others at that home have acted in a manner that has been Disorderly and has been a Nuisance to others on the reserve, as those terms are defined in the First Nation’s Disorderly Conduct and Nuisances Bylaw.
A formal Review Hearing will be held on Tuesday, April 7th, 2026, commencing at 1:00 o’clock p.m., at the Rose Purdy Community Center, Yarmouth, NS. Please check in with their reception desk on your arrival to be directed to the hearing room.
Band members who wish to provide information on this topic may do so by talking to a member of Chief and Council or by sending the information to the Yarmouth Band Office at .
There will also be an opportunity for band members to provide verbal or written witness statements to representatives of Chief and Council by attending a separate informal information session to be held at the Rose Purdy Community Center, Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, on April 7th, 2026, commencing at 11:00 o’clock a.m.
