Welcome from Chief Deborah Robinson

chief deborah robinsonOn behalf of Council and staff of the Wasoqopa’q First Nation I am honoured to provide some brief welcoming remarks to introduce our new website. Our website has evolved through the years and I'm proud to say that it is the product of many dedicated people who have contributed their time and resources. One of the main purposes of this site is to provide our members with up to date information on what is taking place both within our communities and throughout the Mi'kmaw Nation in general.

Through the past twenty six (26) years I have been blessed to have worked with so many dedicated and committed people who serve our communities. Through those years, I have seen our communities grow and progress with the involvement of our elders and youth. We are a proud Mi'kmaw First Nation and our dedicated team of staff and Council members have worked hard to provide a level of service that meets the unique needs of our communities. Although there is a need to increase the level of services and programs for our increasing membership, I am confident in our resolve and commitment to improve the quality of life in all our communities.

Through this website I will be providing regular monthly updates and I look forward to receiving any comments or questions you have at (902) 742-0257 or at Thank you for your continued belief and support in our communities.
